She is an author, poet, and folksinger.
Born and raised in Michigan, Beje Schweitzer has always considered herself a survivor – and then a thriver! Growing up with 4 brothers, she was surrounded by music, the arts, sports, and the great outdoors. A proud graduate of Albion College (3rd generation), she holds a BA in Music, Speech/Drama, with a minor in Education and Physical Education.
As an adult, Beje has lived in 10 states and has held or owned a wide variety of jobs and businesses. While raising 4 children, she also worked in several fields. Although Beje works part-time, she has generously volunteered for two major sports teams, 4 theatre groups, and has written nearly 100 puppet scripts for children’s church, along with Christian plays and musicals. She always finds time to sing, write poetry, and engage in Bible study, as well as enjoy her grandchildren.
Being dyslexic, she believes, is not all bad. Joking that she has no left-brain, she feels her right-brain is overflowing, which fuels her passion for creativity. The poetry and music she creates are gifts from God, and her hope is that you will find them enjoyable, encouraging, and inspiring.
Writing poetry has been a passion of hers since she was very young. In fact, her inspiration, which she describes as God-given, often surfaced during times when she faced difficult decisions. This aligns with her belief in the "Miracles, Prayers & Guardian Angels" that guide her.
Beje lives by the motto: If you look for the good, you will find it – God is in control! If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours! Her recent work, "One Year Poetic Devotional," is a reflection of her journey and insights, inspired by the wisdom of Tami Rene' Demers.
This 31 day poetic devotional will refresh you and renew you!
Christianity is not a religion; It is a relationship. We are all in relationships – some relationships are considered to be very superficial, some can be considered friends, and others total besties. The more we know and communicate with someone the closer we become. All poems in this devotional are scripture based. This poetry is simple and most rhyme. There is nothing abstract about this poetry. In 31 days, you can read a simple scripture and poem and express your thoughts in a couple of lines when you journalBegin by asking yourself these questions.
Ask God to speak to you in a word or picture or a vision or maybe even a dream. Ask what he wants you to learn using these steps in this devotional. If you do this in a group, with a friend, or even alone, you will be more aware of how God speaks to us. There are no right answers. No two people share the same experiences - not even identical twins. The only purpose for sharing with others is that it could trigger a response that is currently foreign to you. You may see your friends in a new light and with more depth. Remember that the body of Christ - the church - is never all hands, feet, ears, or eyes. Each person has God-given talents and experiences. To begin a love with more depth, we remember that relationships with communication are 100% necessary. Should you study individually and privately, you will still be communicating with God - getting to know him better - building a bond greater than was there before.
God’s richest blessings to you.
Beje Schweitzer
